Dr. Kathleen Armstrong is an award-winning plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a specialty in gender affirmation top surgery as well as cosmetic and general plastic surgery. She serves the greater Toronto area, operating out of the GraceMed Mississauga clinic and the Women’s College Hospital in Toronto.
About Dr. Kathleen Armstrong
A large focus of her clinical practice, passion and research is focused on gender-affirming surgeries for trans and gender-diverse individuals. However, complementary areas of expertise include breast augmentation, chest masculinization for gynecomastia, body contouring and labiaplasty.
Dr. Armstrong is an expert in gender-affirming, OHIP-based surgery performing over 250 top surgeries per year. Her skills and expertise across a range of plastic and reconstructive surgeries, plus her innate desire to help people, assure her patients that they are in good hands through every step of their surgical journey.

Recognized for her contribution to the field, Dr. Armstrong has received multiple awards including Mentor Best Clinical Paper, Outstanding Paper Award (WCRI), and Outstanding Paper Presentation (American Society of Plastic Surgery). Her research has been successfully published in high-impact journals including CMAJ, JAMA Surgery and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Journal.
She serves as a peer-reviewer for multiple journals including CMAJ, Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, and the Journal of Medical Internet Research. She has also peer-reviewed grants through the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation committee. Dr. Armstrong lives in Toronto, Ontario, where she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

I couldn't have had a better experience.
I had top surgery at this clinic 6 months ago and I couldn’t have had a better experience. The wait list was much shorter than I anticipated and Elizabeth (who took care of booking all my appointments and addressing my questions) is wonderful. She is very kind, compassionate, and made sure that I felt comfortable and ready throughout the entire process. I had my top surgery with Dr. Armstrong who gave me amazing top surgery results. I am very satisfied with how my scars look, and how easily they faded. More importantly, Dr. Armstrong listened to all my concerns prior to surgery. She even looked over pictures of top surgery results that I like in order give me the results that I wanted. She was able to make me feel very calm and at ease on my surgery day. All the staff that I have met at the clinic have been incredibly helpful and kind individuals. I truly appreciate all their hard work and Elizabeth has been especially helpful and a good friend for support during my top surgery recovery.
Once I met Dr. Armstrong I knew I had made the right decision
From my first point of contact with Lisa, I was truly impressed. At this time I was shopping around for the best service. I strongly believe that the initial point of contact is important. She gave me a confident feeling in GraceMed to have my procedure done. Throughout all of our communications she was very supportive and I felt no pressure. Once I met Dr. Armstrong I knew I had made the right decision. She was very experienced, compassionate and listened to my concerns. The day of my surgery, the nurse I dealt with was very information driven and she was extremely knowledgeable. The Anesthesiologist was also great to deal with. Prior to my surgery, Lisa dropped in to say good luck to me, very thoughtful. Overall, I have to say that in totality my experience was amazing.

My experience at GraceMed Mississauga was exceptional. Dr. Armstrong and her wonderful team of nurses took such great care of me before and after surgery. From answering all my questions, to making sure I was comfortable through the entire process, I truly felt like my best interest was their priority. Simply amazing!
Simply amazing! Right from the moment I walked through the door through to my surgery (lower face lift and upper eye lid) and after care, I cannot say enough positive remarks on how welcoming, professional, and experienced/skilled the team is at GraceMed Mississisauga. Dr. Armstrong is amazing. She is extremely relatable and obviously well practiced and an outstanding surgeon. Lisa was fabulous and her caring concern had me feeling so comfortable and secure with everything involved pre and post op. She was so friendly and quickly answered all my questions. I have no reservations and highly recommend GraceMed Mississisauga. I am 2 weeks post surgery and I am looking forward to my follow up visits. I couldn’t be any happier with my entire experience.
