About Dr. Joy Cluett
Dr. Cluett began her undergraduate studies at Memorial University as a Science (Biology) Major before earning her M.D. from the university’s school of medicine. After four years of general surgery residency at Memorial University’s Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Cluett shifted her career focus to pursue her passion for plastic surgery at Dalhousie University’s Plastic Surgery Residency Program. Following her training, Dr. Cluett furthered her surgical skills in the field of breast and breast reconstruction, completing a fellowship at the University of Toronto and Women’s College.
Dr. Cluett is a caring and compassionate individual, and the well-being of her patients is always her top priority. Her chosen profession allows her to be artistic and challenges her to do better in every situation. She employs the patient and work experiences she gains from her practice, as well as surgical workshops, internships, and conferences, to enhance her patient’s surgical results using the most up-to-date and accessible techniques. Dr. Cluett enjoys making an impact on people’s lives by enhancing their self-esteem or by simply fixing a problem, no matter how small or significant. She understands her position as a female surgeon and utilizes her ability to relate to the specific concerns her female patients have with their bodies. Additional Information
Since 2001, Dr. Cluett has been employed as an active full-time staff by Eastern Health for Newfoundland and Labrador and is the current Acting Head of the Division of Plastic Surgery for the hospital. She continues to have privileges at the Health Sciences Centre, St. Clare’s Hospital, and the Janeway Children’s Hospital in St. John’s.
Dr. Cluett holds the position as a part-time academic instructor with Memorial University’s School of Medicine and a cross appointment with the Cancer Care Program. Previously, she held the role as president of The Atlantic Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Cluett was recently published in a national peer-reviewed journal for her expertise in the field of breast surgery, and has been used as a reliable resource for NTV, CBC Radio, and the Web.

Its a miracle
I had had a large growth nearly 3 inches around on my face for some 20 years. No one wanted to touch it in Ontario because it wasn’t cancerous. Dr Cluett decided to use liquid nitrogen to remove it so that there would be no need for a graft. Within 2 months of treatment it had totally disappeared with no visible scarring. God bless you Joy
Amazing Job
I can’t thank Dr. Cluett enough. I had a big weight loss of over one hundred pounds leaving a lot of excess skin. Dr. Cluett performed a breast lift, full tummy tuck and brachioplasty on both arms. She did an amazing job and I will hold her dearly in my heart forever. She has a big heart, great personality and is very caring. She has changed my life . Thank you Dr. Cluett.

Fantastic
I had surgery with Dr Cluett in Mae h 2019. I must say she was fantastic. My outcome was amazing. She’s easy to talk too,She is very honest with her opinion of what your body needs or what would be best for you. I plan to see her again and have another procedure done with her. Only complaint is it’s hard to get a hold of them at times but calls are always returned. Brandi her office manager is utteriy amazing as well. She’s si sweet and kind and open to you asking questions. Best Dr in Newfoundland and I’d dare to say all of Canada.
No comparison
Dr Cluett has done several of my surgeries. I would highly recommend. Her bed side manner and care is above and beyond. I had consulting with Dr Seal. No comparison. She is so amazing. She is like family. The sweetest ♥️♥️ Brandi is absolutely amazing as well. I could go on and on. They are AMAZING. Love her ❤️❤️❤️❤️
