He is currently the head of the Aesthetic Surgery rotation for Manitoba Plastic Surgery trainees. Dr. Islur is also a part of the Allergen Canada, Mentor/ Johnson & Johnson Canada surgeons training program, and he has trained future plastic surgeons who are now practicing around the world. Dr. Islur’s special interest in complex Revision Breast Augmentation surgery has propelled him to develop and teach his surgical techniques using Acellular Dermal Matric in extremely complex breast cases to plastic surgeons across Canada, adding to his impressive career.

Additional Information
In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Islur holds an Assistant Professorship at the University of Manitoba and is the fellowship director for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at The University of Manitoba, one of three accredited aesthetic plastic surgery fellowships in Canada. He maintains a strong academic presence, having published numerous research and clinical articles in peer-reviewed plastic surgery journals. He is the former Head of Plastic Surgery at St. Boniface Hospital (2010-2019) and the former Residency training Program Director at The University of Manitoba. Dr. Islur enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children away from the clinic.

Dr. Avi Islur, nurse Jenny and his staff is very professional there all amazing ? and very educated in there field. They all took a care of all my needs the day of surgery on Dec 4th at 7:30am and informed me to the exact details that was need to be done before my explant surgery with Dr. Avi Islur. She is very good listener and she is very compassionate toward the patients needs. She makes you feel like your very important she truly understands what I was experiencing at that moment. She was very compassionate with her excellent bedside manner when dealing with patients one on one. The over all experience was very good with with all the staff and the Wonderful results of my surgery and feeling and looking better I saw and felt the results right after I woke up from the anesthesia in wonderful area that was very comforting and very warm. Thank you to Dr. Avi Islur and his amazing ? staff for helping me feel and look better from the big surgery on Dec 4, at 7:30am. Absolutely impressed not only with results but the overall professional atmosphere and friendly staff. I felt so comfortable and put at ease while at the clinic. Karen made my day each time I visited the clinic. I was more than pleased after surgery in the post op…the care was incredible. Dr Islur made me feel very comfortable in my request and made recommendations for the best results. I’ve already made the decision to visit the clinic for other procedures.

Everything from the consult, pre-op, surgery and follow up care has been excellent and a positive experience.
I had breast lift with implants and a tummy tuck May 2018. I was so happy with my consultation that I called to book my procedure the next day. I was able to get the date I wanted.
The day of the procedure I was made very comfortable. Everything was re-explained to me. Any questions I had answered. I was at ease the whole time.
The surgery went very well. Pain was managed easily. The sutures healed beautifully. Scars will be minimal. I am 2 months out and they look fantastic.
