About Dr. Ron Somogyi
Dr. Somogyi earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a Master of Science from the University of Toronto before graduating with honors from medical school at the same institution. He continued at the University of Toronto after medical school to finish a five-year residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He then furthered his training and expertise with two fellowships in Australia. His first fellowship was in reconstructive surgery, focused on complex cancer reconstruction with an emphasis on microsurgical breast reconstruction. He completed this fellowship at Australia’s largest cancer hospital, The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. A second fellowship in general and cosmetic surgery was successfully achieved by Dr. Somogyi at the renowned Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Somogyi’s training provided him with considerable knowledge in his respective field, which he uses to guide him in all facets of his practice at FORM Face + Body. He and his experienced staff are attentive, thoughtful, and eager to provide patients with the greatest professional care and service. Dr. Somogyi puts forth the effort to focus on patient safety, education, and optimal patient experience while providing ethical and effective care so patients can relax and enjoy their journey.

Dr. Somogyi maintains privileges at Women’s College Hospital and is a full-time staff member at North York General. He is an active researcher in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, with recent journal publications and book chapters on breast reconstruction, surgical safety, and breast augmentation. In addition to speaking and teaching on a national and worldwide scale, Dr. Somogyi serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at The University of Toronto. He has received the University of Toronto’s Research Award in Plastic Surgery as well as the D.R. Wilson Teaching Award.

A couple of months ago I was referred to Dr.Somogyi to review my breast reconstruction options as I was facing a double mastectomy surgery due to my recent diagnosis. I knew I was in great hands since my first appointment with him.
Beside being a brilliant surgeon, Dr.Somogyi is just an incredible human being: kind-hearted, compassionate, and caring, his bedside manners are impeccable. He truly is a dedicated professional that went above and beyond in every step of my journey, from the surgery day to the heeling process. I’m so grateful that my experience went so smooth and almost painless. It’s been one month since my surgery and I’m feeling amazing. Thank you for ensuring my surgery was a success. Knows what he is doing
I recently had an extended adominoplasty and breast lift with Dr. Somogyi . I wanted the surgery as I had major weight loss and wanted to address the excess skin. Everyone at Form Face &Body were as professional and nice as you would hope. I was extremely apprehensive about the pain and discomfort after surgery of this kind. My Family Doctor had recommended Dr. Somogyi and I had met
and spoken to him several times so I had no concerns about the actual surgery but the recovery
terrified me. It’s been 3weeks since my surgery. The first couple of days were uncomfortable but I was completely surprised about how little pain and discomfort there was. I was able to get up out of bed after surgery and walk on my own. The worst of it was my stomach muscles. It felt like I did 1,000 sit ups. I was bent over as Dr Somogyi did an excellent job tightening my stomach muscles but that too got better everyday. I was expecting to need major drugs for the pain for at least a week or 2 but didn’t need to take any pain meds other then Tylenol after 2 days. I was able to take a shower after my 1st follow up ,4 days after surgery and had no problem showering and washing my hair myself. The compression garments can be a bit off-putting at first but seriously you get used to them very quickly and they really are essential to help with swelling and bruising. I’m delighted with the results. Dr Somogyi has both the surgical skills and the bedside manner you would want from your Doctor and the bonus has been the better then expected recovery. It will still take a while to completely heal but just remember to follow the doctor’s instructions he knows what he’s doing.
Couldn't be happier
I saw Dr Somogyi for my surgery beginning of March and I couldn’t be happier. During my consult he immediately made me feel comfortable and he was very respectful! The day of surgery was so quick and the entire team was so amazing. My nurses were so kind!! Dr Somogyi did such an amazing job and even called the next day to check in! I couldn’t imagine going any where else for my surgery besides Form! 10/10 and can’t thank him and the team enough!

I just had my 3 month post-op appointment today. Dr. Somogyi is an amazing doctor! I was so hesitant and had been thinking about getting a tummy tuck for a few years now, but I was always so scared. I did consult with a few other doctors, but with dr. Somogyi I felt at ease. He answered all of my questions and didn’t rush through any of my appointments. He is very easy going and approachable. I am beyond happy with the end result! This is life changing! All the staff at the office are super nice as well. They are on top of things and are always communicating with you. If I ever decide to have any future procedures done I don’t have to look any further! Dr. Somogyi is a keeper! He even personally called me, to check up on me, when I got home at 11:30pm, right after I was discharged from the hospital. How amazing is that! I definitely recommend this doctor! I had zero complications during and after my surgery and I am a higher risk patient due to previous history of blood clots. When you get into the operating room the staff makes you feel at ease, they make you laugh to the point that you even forget that you are about to have surgery. Very very happy!
