Dr. Sofie Schlagintweit was born and raised in the Fraser Valley and is dedicated to fostering positive relationships and serving her community. Sofie holds privileges at Langley Memorial Hospital and Abbotsford Regional Hospital. Her office is associated with Fraser Valley Plastic Surgery. She performs both publicly covered (MSP) and aesthetic surgery.
Dr. Schlagintweit received a full athletic scholarship to play volleyball for Arizona State University while pursuing her academics. When her athletic career ended, Sofie pivoted her focus towards achieving academic excellence with the goal of medical school. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science, receiving multiple awards for academic achievement throughout her studies.
Sofie completed medical school at University of Toronto where she found her passion in plastic surgery through spending time at the Ross Tilley Burn Centre. She returned home to the University of British Columbia for her residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Sofie completed an aesthetic surgery and breast reconstruction fellowship in Kelowna before being hired by Fraser Health’s Plastic Surgery Group.
