About Dr. Sheina Macadam
In addition to publishing over 35 peer-reviewed research articles, Dr. Sheina Macadam heads the UBC Breast Reconstruction Program and is the Research Director within the Division of Plastic Surgery. She also is the Director of the UBC Breast Reconstruction Fellowship which trains national and international plastic surgery graduates. Most importantly, she is focused on patient wellness and satisfaction, while delivering the safest surgical results.

Dr. Macadam completed her fellowship training in aesthetic breast surgery and reconstructive breast surgery with a focus on microvascular reconstruction. During her fellowship in Baltimore, Maryland, Winnipeg, and Manitoba she trained specifically in methods to reconstruct a breast using a “free flap” such as the DIEP, SGAP, and TUG flaps practice. To date, she has authored over 35 peer-reviewed journal articles and her research has been funded by over $300,000 in grant monies from research funding agencies such as the Canadian Research Alliance. Today this program is strong after a decade of growth and now offers every type of reconstruction to the patients of British Columbia.

Really incredible work
Dr. Sheina Macadam is amazing. I had to have a bilateral mastectomy which was a horrible time, but the reconstruction turned out better than the originals. If I had known it would go this well, I would have been less worried about it. Receptionist Michelle is also lovely. She makes you feel so comfortable. I can’t thank you enough. Dr. Macadam has a lovely way of explaining all procedures that she offers and what is best for her patients. She has undeniably done an amazing job with my case; literally taking weight off of my shoulders. Dr. Macadam took her time explaining every detail to me and made me feel so at ease. I will not look or tell people to look anywhere else when it comes to Plastic Surgeons. She is the best of the best.

I had been thinking about getting a breast augmentation for many many years, had gone to various consultations but never really felt confident nor comfortable to make a decision. After talking to my roommate about her surgery and hearing amazing things about DR.Sheina I decided to make a consultation. Best decision by far, I couldn’t be happier about my results, during the process she makes herself available to any inquiry, she’s realistic about the sizing and the possible complications which I didn’t have any. Her receptionist Michelle is amazing always keeping on track with my consultations and other things I may need. Overall I give Dr.Sheina 5 stars, she’s kind and easy to talk to!
