Dr. Brett Byers has completed extensive fellowship training in all areas of plastic surgery. He is most intrigued by hand and peripheral nerve surgery, as well as reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. About Dr. Brett Byers
Dr. Byers started his undergraduate studies in physical therapy at the University of Saskatchewan. After discovering plastic surgery was an excellent fit due to his keen eye for detail and innate skill for intricate surgical work, Dr. Byer earned his medical degree from the same university’s College of Medicine. Soon after that, he was granted admission into the University of Calgary’s plastic surgery residency program. After completing his residency, he spent a year at Western University in London, Ontario, for specialist fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery. Through his education and training, Dr. Byer proved to have exceptional surgical skills and an exemplary track record. He finds utmost satisfaction in his profession as a plastic surgeon and in assisting patients in their plastic surgery journeys by helping them feel understood and supported.

Dr. Byers is a clinical lecturer at the University of Calgary and runs clinics out of Rockyview General Hospital. In his spare time, he likes to travel, play the piano, draw, paint, and keep active by running or hiking. He also enjoys supporting Canada’s professional sports teams and spending time at the lake with his wife and three kids.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Byers and his Assistant Susan, I had an Ulnar Shortening procedure in December and I am happy with the outcome so far from consult to surgery all my questions were answered in great detail and I was prepared for this procedure. Follow up post surgery has be awesome and I can’t say enough about him and the staff! Can’t wait to get back to baseball in April!!

Dr Byers put me at ease with respect to a procedure that I was quite nervous about proceeding with. He was very professional and compassionate. Also, Dr Byers assistant Susan was quite helpful when I called the office to ask some extra questions and she was thorough and pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend this practice.
