About Dr. Alexandra Hatchell

Dr. Hatchell specializes in a range of procedures, including breast and body contouring and gender-reaffirming surgery. She firmly believes in empowering all her patients to achieve their best possible physical, emotional, and psychological versions. With impressive credentials and a wealth of experience, Dr. Hatchell is an invaluable asset to her patients and the medical community. She obtained her medical degree from McMaster University in 2014 and completed her plastic surgery residency at the same institution in 2019. Dr. Hatchell pursued a microsurgery fellowship at the University of Calgary to refine her skills further, specializing in trauma reconstruction, oncologic reconstruction (covering breast, head and neck, and sarcoma cases), and peripheral nerve reconstruction.

Currently, Dr. Hatchell holds the position of attending plastic surgeon at the Peter Lougheed Centre and Alberta Health Services while also serving as a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Surgery at the University of Calgary. In addition, she plays a significant role as the Global Breast Surgery Specialty Lead for the ERAS Society. In this role, Dr. Hatchell is passionately dedicated to optimizing operative efficiency and promoting enhanced postoperative recovery.
