He then attended medical school at the same institution, which was ranked as the top medical school in Canada. During his medical studies, Dr. Viezel-Mathieu developed a strong passion for plastic surgery, leading him to be selected as one of the top applicants for McGill’s competitive residency program in plastic surgery.
Following his successful residency, Dr. Viezel-Mathieu pursued further specialization through a fellowship at the University of Toronto. This additional year of training focused on breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery, in which he gained extensive experience working alongside some of North America’s leading aesthetic and reconstructive surgeons.
