Dr. Thomson has received considerable training in the field of plastic surgery. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with high distinction for both his medical degree and his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. Following a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Dr. Thomson completed a subspecialty fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a focus on hand and microvascular surgery. His years of experience has allowed Dr. Thomson to understand that the decision to have cosmetic surgery is a difficult one, involving significant financial, emotional, and physical investment. With an emphasis on clear communication, he advises his patients to help them to feel confident in their decisions. Dr. Thomson relocated back to his alma mater, the University of Saskatchewan, where he works as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery as well as a teacher, mentor, and faculty member in the College of Medicine’s Division of Plastic Surgery. Wonderful!
It’s now one week since I had a tummy tuck and a breast reduction. I waited many months to get an initial appointment with Dr. Thomson. (partially due to covid) He is worth the wait. I am healing amazingly quickly and I have minimal pain. I was on some meds for the first five days and haven’t needed anything recently. (Note: I might still need some in the future) The visit in the clinic was very positive and I loved Nurse Emily. She was very clear in all the information she gave me and was kind, attentive and just plain wonderful. I felt completely cared for. I loved it. I live alone so I mostly take care of myself. lol. In my initial appointment Dr. Thomson was very professional and gave me the information for any scenario that will or could happen. I felt totally confident to make an immediate appointment to have my surgery happen as soon as they had time for me. I am very happy and excited about my results. BTW. I am 70 years old and I only missed 3 days of coffee with my regular lady coffee group. Today I walked 3 kms. and I will soon be back to walking my regular 5 kms. every day. Thank you Dr. Thomson and all the wonderful crew that you have working with you.
Knowledgeable, confident, and informative
I had my ears gauged/stretched back in high school and have wanted to get them repaired for years. I originally found a surgeon in Regina to do the procedure, but I did not like the doctor at all when I did the consultation. That’s when I found Dr. Thomson located in Saskatoon. He was knowledgeable, confident and informative from the first time we spoke. I’m super glad I went to him. His staff was super helpful and friendly through email communication and over the phone. From my first consultation with Dr.Thomson, to now being 8 weeks post breast augmentation, I have had such an amazing process! During the consultation, he made me feel so comfortable and completely understood what I was trying to achieve. The weeks leading up to surgery, him and his front staff were extremely friendly and promptly answered any questions or concerns that I had. Going into surgery, Dr. Thomson could tell I was nervous, but only made me feel more comfortable and assured! I have had no post-op complications, and the results are better than I could have imagined! Overall, him and his team made the whole process very easy and fun! I have already referred him to friends, and will 100% continue to refer him to anyone!

I had surgery 6 months ago with Dr. Thomson and I couldn’t be happier. I had a tummy tuck and breast augment, and am so happy I decided to have the surgery with Dr. Thomson. He did a great job of explaining the surgery and laying out what I could expect. My results are outstanding. Highly recommend!

I had such a good experience with Dr. Thomson. I had a sub muscular breast augmentation and a drainless abdominoplasty or what is sometimes called a mommy makeover. I was so pleased with his office from the first phone call and information consult with his assistant, Brittany . My first consult with Dr. Thomson was great. He was easy to talk to, took the time to listen and answer all my questions, discuss my expectations. I am now 5 months post op. Dr. Thomson told me 6 months to a year to see final results. So far I am so extremely pleased. I have been so happy with his post op care as well. Quick to answer any questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Thomson.
