The most popular surgeries among men are penis enlargement, penile elongation, penile girth enhancement, scrotal reduction, and testicular implants, with the most common surgeries being penis enlargement surgery, penile elongation, and penile girth enhancement.

Penis enlargement surgery: 

Penuma is the only penis enhancement procedure that has been approved for commercial use by the FDA under the 510(k) regulation. The device has received FDA approval for cosmetic enhancement. The Penuma is a crescent-shaped piece of medical-grade silicone that is put beneath the skin of your penis to lengthen and widen your penis.

There are three sizes available: large, extra-large, and extra-extra-large.

The tissues that shape your penis are primarily made up of two types:

• Two cylindrical sections of tissue that run parallel to each other along the top of your penis are known as the corpus cavernosa.

• The corpus spongiosum is a cylinder of tissue that runs along the bottom of your penis and surrounds your urethra, which is where urine exits.

Your Penuma device will be custom-made to fit your individual penis. Like a sheath, it is put into your shaft over the corpora cavernosa. This is accomplished by making an incision slightly above the base of your penis in your groin area. The device stretches the skin and tissues of the penis to make it appear and feel larger.

Penile elongation surgery: 

The surgery is done under a general anesthetic. The internal component of your penis is released by severing a ligament that holds it in place. A muscular technique is also used to assure the surgery’s long-term effectiveness. If the region above your penis is too full and concealing the entire length of the penile shaft, liposuction may be recommended.

Penile girth enhancement: 

Fat injection is a common plastic surgery procedure that, in this case, enlarges the circumference or width of your penis. Penile enlargement surgery is performed under general anesthesia.  The fat is normally withdrawn from your abdomen and injected through one or more microscopic incisions under the foreskin (if present), right below the head of the penis. The stitches dissolve, and the incisions heal with little to no scarring.

Testicular implant surgery: 

The patient will be placed under either general or local anesthesia. The surgeon will make an incision in the lower part of the groin or upper scrotum and create a pouch for the prosthesis. The implant will then be fixed into place in the correct position. The incision will then be closed with stitches.

Scrotoplasty:

For gender affirmation – Scrotoplasty for gender affirmation typically includes creating a penis. A surgeon may use existing genital tissue to create a penis or the procedure may take skin from another part of your body. To construct the scrotum, the surgeon cuts and shapes the lower part of your labia majora into a scrotum-like sac.

After your scrotum heals, you may choose to get testicular implants during another procedure. These silicone gel or saltwater implants create the look and feel of testicles.

To treat buried penis and other problems – The surgeon removes excess skin and tissue connecting your skin and penis. If needed, the surgeon may tighten ligaments that connect your scrotum to the base of your penis.

For cosmetic concerns – The patient will be placed under either general or local anesthesia. The surgeon will remove excess skin on the top portion of the scrotum and beneath the penis shaft. Muscle tightening and tissue grafts will be done if needed. The incision will be closed using sutures, and a bandage will be applied.

The length of time it takes to complete your surgery depends on the type and complexity of your surgery and the technique used.

Recovery will heavily depend on the type and complexity of the male genital cosmetic surgery performed. You may need to take pain medications, anti-inflammatories, or antibiotics to help you heal and manage pain and swelling after the procedure.

Recovery times vary significantly between patients. There may be some swelling and discomfort for one week after your procedure.
