Beautifi Privacy Policy

Beautifi’s Role as Lender and Platform

Beautifi is the lender of record for all consumer financing on our platform. In other words, Beautifi directly originates, underwrites, approves, and funds each unsecured loan. We therefore collect personal, financial and credit information (for example, income, credit history, employment, and related data) as needed to underwrite, service and collect on these loans. This information collection is done only with your knowledge and consent, for legitimate purposes related to the loan or our healthcare services. We also operate a digital platform that connects patients to healthcare providers; in those cases, any relevant information shared with providers (to facilitate scheduling or billing) is done with your consent and for service delivery.

Information We Collect and Use

We collect only the information necessary for the purposes identified. This includes data you provide when applying for financing or using our platform (such as your name, contact details, financial information, credit data, and any health-related information needed to connect you with a provider). We may also collect technical data (e.g. device, IP address) to ensure our systems function securely. Beautifi uses your information primarily to evaluate loan applications, manage accounts and payments, facilitate healthcare appointments, and comply with legal obligations. All uses of your data are consistent with these purposes and with the consent you have provided.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Beautifi uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve our services. These cookies fall into several high-level categories:

  • Authentication/Session Cookies – to maintain secure login sessions.
  • Security Cookies – to protect against web threats.
  • Preference Cookies – to remember your choices.
  • Analytics Cookies – set by tools like Google Analytics to collect data on site usage.
  • Marketing/Advertising Cookies – for targeted ads and attribution.

Beautifi’s first-party cookies (authentication, security, preferences) are under our control and used only by our systems. In addition, we allow third-party cookies set by tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook/Meta, and Smartlook. These third-party tools collect information on our behalf (for analytics and ad tracking) and are outside our direct control.

To comply with Canadian law, we obtain your consent before using non-essential cookies. You may later withdraw consent or block cookies at any time using your browser settings. Beautifi does not sell personal data to any third parties.

Analytics and Advertising Tools

Beautifi uses analytics and tracking tools to improve service delivery and marketing attribution:

  • Google Analytics: Used to analyze website traffic and usage.
  • Facebook (Meta) Pixel: Used for advertising attribution.
  • Smartlook (Session Replay): Records how users interact with our website to improve UX.

These tools help us understand user behavior on the site, but they respect user privacy controls. None of these services are used to sell your data – they are used solely to improve service quality and marketing attribution.

Data Retention and Disclosure

Beautifi retains personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill its original collection purpose and to comply with legal requirements. We regularly review our data and delete or anonymize information that is no longer required. We may share your information with third parties in limited circumstances. We do not sell your personal data.

Your Privacy Rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to access the data we hold about you, request corrections, and make inquiries about how your data is used or disclosed. Any access or correction requests should be made in writing to our Privacy Officer. We will respond promptly and at no cost to you. You may withdraw your consent to our processing of your data at any time.

Electronic Communications (CASL)

Beautifi complies with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) when sending any marketing communications. We only send commercial electronic messages (CEMs) to you if you have given us consent.

Beautifi may contact you by email, SMS/text message, or telephone using the contact details you provide. These communications may include updates on your application, loan servicing notifications, appointment reminders, promotional offers, and satisfaction surveys.
