About Dr. David Wilkie
Dr. David Wilkie serves as a Consultant and Clinical Professor at the Bladder Care Centre, University of British Columbia, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine. He is deeply committed to education and mentoring, actively engaging with Students, Residents, and Fellows, particularly in the specialized realms of urogynecology and gynecologic surgery.
Dr. Wilkie’s journey to becoming a distinguished surgeon commenced with his Medical Degree at the University of British Columbia, followed by internships in New Zealand and England. He further pursued a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UBC and honed his sub-specialty skills in Urogynecology at St. George’s Hospital Medical School in London, England. As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Dr. Wilkie’s contributions and achievements in gynecologic surgery have garnered national and international recognition.

I saw Dr Wilkie in February 2021 for stress incontinence bladder sling surgery. He had an amazing bedside manner and carefully went through all my options and described the procedure in detail over the phone and then in person at my pre-op appointment. He answered all my questions and made sure I was well aware of everything. The day of the surgery went as planned snd I had zero issues post surgery. Although I had to take it easy for a month there was very little downtime. So far the surgery seems extremely effective and I’m so happy to have done it.
